Future Hope for Women is a department of African Global Mission Inc., a nonprofit charitable Registered in Tennessee 501© 3 with IRS. Hope for Women focuses exclusively on women and young girls. Our motto is “Bringing Help, Hope and Healing to Women Survivors of Violence and its Effects”.
Mugore Jya Mbere
Mugore means “woman”, Jya mbere means “go forward”.
Before 1994 in Rwanda only 20% of women were working outside of the home in professional careers. 80% were home moms or worked in subsistence agriculture. Today, as the country is being rebuilt, many of these women can’t find a place for themselves. Women - particularly those left injured, ill or traumatized by war and violence - face oppression, and widespread discrimination. At the same time, many find themselves the sole provider for a large family, with no assistance and nowhere to turn.
